Robert E. Noonan was born in Batavia in 1907. He graduated from the University of Buffalo Law School in 1931 and was admitted to practice in 1932. He practiced law in Batavia until he was elected to his first Supreme Court term in 1948. Justice Noonan was appointed to the Appellate Division in September of 1963 by Governor Rockefeller and served until his death on May 27, 1965.
