Selah Brewster Strong served in 1849, 1859. Born in Setauket, Suffolk County, Long Island, May 1, 1792. Yale graduate, 1811. District attorney, Suffolk County, 1821-1841. Representative (Democrat) to Congress, 1843-1845. Supreme court justice, 1847-1860. Member, constitutional convention, 1867. Local landmarks in Setauket (Strong House, Strong Lane, Strong’s Neck).
