Platt Potter

Platt Potter served in 1865. Born in Galway, Saratoga County, Apr. 6, 1800. Schenectady College graduate, 1820. District attorney, Schenectady County, 1839-1845. Master and examiner in chancery, 1828-1848. Elected to state supreme court, fourth district, 1857 and again in 1865. Appointed associate justice of General Term, Third Department. President state judicial convention in Rochester, 1870. Author Potter’s Dwarris (statutory construction), Equity Jurisprudence, and Potter on Corporations (2 Vols. 1879), State Trials of England (6 Vols). Died in Schenectady, N.Y., Aug. 12, 1891. Obituary, The New York Times, Aug. 15, 1891.
