Levi F. Bowen

1808-1889

Levi F. Bowen served in 1857. Born Nov. 11, 1808, in Homer, Cortland County, N.Y. Judge of Common Pleas, 1837-1838. Elected to state assembly, 1845; County judge, Niagara County, 1851. Appointed to supreme court by Gov. Washington Hunt in 1852; elected in 18523. Delegate to 1867 Constitutional Convention. Died in Lockport, Niagara County, N.Y., Dec. 27, 1889, with thanks to the Niagara County historian, Christine Derby-Chadrado, for Judge Bowen’s picture and a depiction of his residence at Cottage and East Genesee Streets, Lockport.
