John W. Willard

John W. Willard served in 1853. Born in Guilford, Conn., May 20, 1792. Judge and vice chancellor, Fourth Circuit, 1836-1848. New York State senator, 1862. Author, Equity Jurisprudence, New York (1858); Treatise on Real Estate and Conveyancing (1861); see 1 McAdam, History of the Bench and Bar of New York, New York History Co. (1897), p. 521. He died on Aug. 31 (or Sep. 1), 1862.
