Henry Allen Foster

Henry Allen Foster served in 1870. Born in Hartford, Conn., May 7, 1800. Schooled in Cazenovia, Onondaga County, N.Y. Oneida County surrogate, 1827-1831, 1833-1834. New York state senator, 1831-1834 and 1841-1844. Representative to Congress (Democrat) 1837-1839. U.S. senator, 1844-1845. After serving as Oneida County surrogate, elected justice of the supreme court, fifth judicial district, 1864-1873. President, Board of Trustees, Hamilton College.
