George Gould

1807-1868

George Gould served 1862. Born in Litchfield, Conn., Sep. 2, 1807, the son of Judge James Gould, nephew of Elizabeth Gould, who was the wife of Roger M. Sherman, and grandson of Gen. Uriah Tracy, U.S. senator. Yale College, class of 1827. Admitted to New York bar, 1830. Became justice of the state supreme court in 1855. Died in Troy, N.Y., in 1868.
