Augustus Bockes

Augustus Bockes served in 1867. Born near Greenfield Center, Saratoga County, Oct. 1, 1817. County judge 1847, reelected in 1851. Appointed by Gov. John A. Dix to General Term, Third Department; reappointed by Gov. Samuel J. Tilden. Appointed by Gov. Myron H. Clark as supreme court justice, fourth judicial district, 1855, elected 1859, reelected 1875. Died Aug. 8, 1907; interred at Greenridge Cemetery in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Biography in Mann, The Bench and Bar of Saratoga County, Ballston, New York, Waterbury & Inman (1876), p. 275.
