Gilbert Dean served in 1858. Born in Pleasant Valley, Dutchess County, N.Y. Aug. 14, 1819. Graduated from Yale, 1841, and admitted to New York bar, 1844. Practiced in Poughkeepsie. Representative to Congress (Democrat), 1851-1854. Appointed to state supreme court, 1854. Died in Poughkeepsie Oct. 12, 1870. Interrred in Presbyterian Cemetery, Pleasant Valley, N.Y.; reinterred in Portland Evergreen Cemetery, Brocton, Chautauqua County, N.Y.
