Amaziah Bailey James

1812-1883

Amaziah Bailey James served in 1861, 1869. Born in Stephentown, Rensselaer County, N.Y., Jul. 1, 1812. Admitted to practice 1838 and practiced law for 15 years in Ogdensburg, St. Lawrence County. Elected to state supreme court, 1853. Representative to Congress, 1877-1881. Died Jul. 6, 1883, in Ogdensburg, N.Y.
