Albany County Bar Association Honors William S. Andrews

These photos show a program for an event hosted by the Albany County Bar Association honoring the Hon. William S. Andrews, who had recently retired as an Associate Judge of the Court of Appeals. Judge Andrews was the author of the famous dissent in Palsgraf v. Long Island Railroad Co. (1928) and one of the stars of the Court of Appeals in the 1920s — often considered among the most influential state supreme courts in American history. The 1927 Court of Appeals, for example, included Chief Judge Benjamin Cardozo, Judge Andrews, and three future Chief Judges: Irving Lehman, Cuthbert W. Pound, and Frederick E. Crane.
