This is our family, this is our mission, this is what we do, and that’s what the Historical Society does–keep alive the legal history of the great State of New York
Hon. Jonathan Lippman, Society President
The Historical Society of the New York Courts is an independent 501(c)3 nonprofit with the mission of preserving, protecting, and promoting the legal history of New York State–how it works to promote democracy, ensure justice, and promote the rule of law. To fulfill this mission, the Society empowers New York students to be better citizens and create change, builds an informed citizenry through its public programs and events, captures living history in oral histories, produces publications that showcase the fascinating legal history stories of the State, and develops new and novel ways to shine this unique spotlight.
Your Society membership supports these initiatives and ensures that the Society can continue to highlight how the past is relevant in present.
